Do you remember the Coolfire III? No? Well that's okay, because neither does Innokin! By jumping straight from the Coolfire II to the Coolfire IV, Innokin has given us a solid, high quality variable voltage/variable wattage device at an affordable price. The body has a brushed aluminum finish with beveled edges and is made to fit comfortably in the hand. Plus with all the color options available, you can get one that really matches your style. At the top we have a stainless steel 510 connection with a spring-loaded, gold-plated copper pin. This means that just about any tank you screw onto the device will work with it, though we do suggest trying it out with Innokin's iSub or iSub-G sub-ohm tanks for a perfect match!
The Coolfire IV has an extremely responsive fire button located near the top of the front of the device. Located beneath that is a bright, clear OLED screen that displays the ohm load of your coil, your voltage, wattage, and battery life. Below the screen are your +/- buttons which allow you to set your volts between 3.0 and 7.5 in 0.1 increments or your watts between 6.0 and 40.0 in 0.5 increments, depending on if you prefer to vape in variable voltage or variable wattage mode. Finally, below the +/- buttons there is a micro USB slot for charging.
Inside the Coolfire IV there is a 2000 mAh battery, which is enough power to last most vapers a full day on a single charge. And on the off chance you use up the full charge you can always vape while your device charges Innokin's pass-through technology. Also inside the Coolfire IV is the control board, and this is where the unit really shines. It will fire any resistance from 0.3 to 2.5 ohms and they've designed the device to run on vrms direct current, which makes it accurate to 0.1 watts. This means that no matter if you are vaping at 6.0 watts or the full 40.0 watts, you are always going to get the exact power level you choose.
Innokin also uses a unique system for indicating the remaining charge on the battery. You can choose to either look at the battery bar on the screen, or you can look at the LED lights surrounding the fire button as you vape. If the green LED is lit, it means that the battery is above a half charge and you are ready to go. When the light changes to yellow it means that the battery has about half of it's charge left and you should still have plenty of time left to vape. When the light turns red your battery is running low and you should charge it very soon (though remember, you can still vape it as you charge).
Innokin is known for the safety of it's devices, and the Coolfire IV is no exception. It's safety features include:
What's in the box, you ask? Well, the Coolfire IV comes with just about everything you need; all you have to do is top it with your favorite tank. You will receive the device itself, an Ego adapter (for those of you running tanks like the Vivi Nova), a micro USB charge cable, and a user guide.
